No fucking way. My intuition is intuitioning. So today I decided to put the last bit of cash I had into my bank account. I did that and went about my day. I decided around 6 or 7 I’d go to my favorite coffee shop so I could write and read my book. Eventually I get to FaceTiming my cousin and we’re just chatting it up when I get a feeling. A feeling to check on my car. So I go outside and I see a tow truck, look to the spot where I parked and surprise surprise this dude has my car. LIKE FUCK. So I’m standing there in the freezing cold talking to this guy and his wife asking how much it’d cost to get my car back. He tells me it’s going to cost $232 to get it off now and $300 to get it at the lot. I’m thinking well ain’t no way I’m going to pay more to get my car but also damn I have only $234 in my bank account and that it. #TimesareRoughRightNow
Of course I’m respectful and pay them because they’re literally just doing their job. While I’m getting the trucker’s information I say “you know, it could always be worse. Thank God I at least caught you when I caught you even if this is the last of my money. God is good.” I make sure the money is sent and he puts my car down and I get in the car. He starts to pull off and then I suddenly see him reverse back. I was like uhhhh was there a problem with the payment orrrrr. He asked me for my number so I give it to him just thinking he had to keep it on record or something. Then he asks, “did you get it?” I check my phone and there it was- a notification that $20 had been deposited into my bank. I thanked him and his wife and he rolled off. It really goes to show that good is all around us, even in shit situations. 1. He really could’ve told me to fuck off and that I’d have to go pick it up at the lot and 2. He definitely didn’t have to give me $20 back. I didn’t say “-even if this is the last of my money. God is good” to make him feel some type of way for me. I genuinely meant it. Although the situation wasn’t ideal I was grateful for the little win. So shout out to all the good people and the good in people’s hearts. And a special shoutout to Christopher Polanco for showing me kindness on a cold night. Thank you. God is good.
