Life has been reminding me of a lot recently. About the characters around me, about myself and about life in general.
1. There are people out there that want to see you do good, just not better than them. Beware of the eye.
2. Don't get caught up in trying to see the "bigger picture." It does not exist. You're still painting it. My friend taught me that.
3. The art of detachment. The story continues to unravel.
4. Being confused is okay. You're building something new. Sometimes life is like a puzzle. This kind of ties into #2. There are those puzzle pieces that look like nothing. On their own they don't seem significant, but make sense later on.
5. Don't put anything past anyone. People will continue to surprise you.
6. Just because it's taking time, doesn't mean it's not happening.
7. I am terrible at spelling. Like y'all it's bad. You'd think sounding it out is enough...nah dawg.
8. If you don't know what your purpose is, pursue yourself. Who you're supposed to be will align with the life you want to live. It takes time and effort.
9. No matter how much time has passed, some people will be up to their usual antics. I was people watching and I saw someone in the distance I knew. Man, was that shit embarrassing. Like okay, so no character development or what?
10. I don't love bananas. So sorry y'all, no hate. Not for me. Throw some slices into a bowl of Honey Bunches of Oats with Almonds, FIRE. OR Honey Bunches of Oats with Almonds in vanilla yogurt, fucking Michelin Star!
11. Coconut water is so good, like crazy good (had to put this in here). I like eating healthy. Whole foods, fresh tastes, yeah, grand, splendid. I'll still fuck up a Nacho Cheese Doritos Locos Taco Supreme from Taco Bell though, quit playing. #NotSponsored
12. Continue learning about yourself. Allow yourself to let go of who you used to be. Learn to accept what was.
13. Remember to be grateful (this is important).
14. Not everyone is going to understand you or your point of view -AND THAT'S OKAY!
15. People think tomorrow is one more day, but it's actually one less day. Discard what is not for you and put your energy towards your values.
16. The pain of regret lasts longer than the pain of discipline.
17. Self-trust isn't knowing you'll always make the right choice. Sometimes it's knowing you can handle what happens when you don't. The ability to do so will rid you of overthinking and will build your confidence. Most things aren't as complicated and as complex as we make them out to be.
And with that, I'll end on my favorite number. I'm still figuring things out, but I have faith that everything will be as it's supposed to. I've learned some of these lessons and pieces of information through reading and some through living. Keep learning, keep reading and keep living. Until next time.
